The fourth isn't. And neither are any of the other times after that.

Summary
For herself. To be without stress, without the constant terror that was the end of last season. To recover from seeing both of the only two people who she trusted, loved, die in front of her, being so incapable of doing a thing. To trust again, be able to feel the comfort of arms around her and know that they’re kind.
She’s warm. Maybe not– maybe not as warm as she remembers, as warm as she really wants to be, but she’s warm again.

Summary
Some families pass on watches, furniture, recipes, or books from generation-to-generation; the Klinger family pass on dresses.
It’s 1965 and 18-year-old Jamil Klinger has just received his draft papers. His father sends him to Missouri to visit a cousin he says is the custodian of a family tradition which can help Jamil dodge the draft. But Jamil’s cousin gives him something which has far more impact on his life than just a way to evade the draft.
----
“The Klinger clan has a unique solution when it comes to avoiding military service.”
“What’s that?”
“Insanity!” Said Max with a flourish of his hand.
“I… uh…” Jamil faltered. This really had been a wasted trip.
Max clocked Jamil’s discomfort. “Oh, it’s a fool-proof technique. Guaranteed to work.”
“Didn’t you serve in Korea?” Asked Jamil.
“Yeah… Sometimes it fails,” Max admitted. “But I was this close to getting my section 8 discharge.”
“Okay…” Jamil said. He’d come this far. He may as well find out what this was all about now he was here.Bookmarked by mummelwrites

It doesn't matter that Minute claims control now, because Pentar's never had it. Not with The Abyss at least.
Betrayal doesn't hurt if you never loved the team either.Bookmarked by mummelwrites
