Summary
Crescent Diggory is a simple person, really. She's not problematic (most of the time) and she follows the rules (on a good day). Sage was nothing but a puppet, but then the arrival of Renesmee Cullen cut her strings and gave her something she had not felt in a long time--hope.
Sam hated vampires. Mostly, he was biased since he was bred to hate them, and his ancestors loathed them, but he really hated vampires. So, when Leah imprinted on one, he contemplated ripping the bloodsucker to shreds if only to keep his pack (and his feelings) safe. However, the undeniable sense of joy Leah got around the leech stopped him, and Sam did nothing but let her rejoice in finding her other half, no matter how much it disgusted him (and broke his heart) to see her with him.
The arrival of Sage Volturi was enough to turn his world completely upside down. (And enough to bring his nightmares to life.) Now, Sam has to deal with seeing the woman he loved with another man while dealing with the fact that he imprinted on the very creature he was sworn to hate.
