“How many brothers do you have, Dennis?” Mel asked, head tilted in a gentle curiosity. She’d given up on the braid, and on following the movie, hands content to card through Trinity’s hair aimlessly.
“Six. Jesse, Mark, Matthew, Lucas, David, Jude, and me. They kept trying for a girl.” He grimaced, crossing his arms over his chest.
“Sucks to suck!” Trinity whooped in support of her mouse, making circles in the air with her raised fist. Her drink, perched on the arm of the couch, tilted precariously. “Get ‘recked, Mr. and Mrs. Whitaker!”
He chuckled at her absurdity. “How about you, Carter? How many siblings do you have?”
“Two. Three.” He paused, took a breath. It was a more difficult question to answer than most people expected when they asked. “I’m the youngest. Sarah’s the next in line, she’s a stay at home mom in Switzerland. Bobby passed when he was fourteen. And you all know how old Mikey is, he’s ancient.”

Sicktember Day 18- "We're going to the hospital"
“Wait, hang on, just-” He presses himself up against the bars of the cell. The guard sighs and turns around, looking thoroughly unimpressed. “I'm epileptic. It could, uh, cause a seizure.”
Most of the time, when Carter points out a trigger, he's accommodated for. Perhaps that makes him privileged, but he's grown accustomed to the gentle smile and fix-it attitude.
An attitude it seems this guard does not possess in the slightest. He rolls his eyes, scoffs.
“Yeah, sure you are, pal. Sit down and shut up.”
OR
Carter is epileptic, and during S4 E9 'Obstruction of Justice', his stay in the jail cell proves more than simply inconvenient.

Really, it hadn’t been that traumatizing of an ordeal. Sure, maybe having the burlap sack thrown over his head as he was jumped on the way to his Jeep had been a bit of a surprise, but with John being related to who he was related to….it isn’t all that shocking. It was bound to happen sooner or later. John is honestly more shocked he didn’t realize it was happening until he was haphazardly thrown into the car with an undignified yelp.
The car, or van, whatever the fuck it was, is stuffy and bumpy. Sweat pools around his neck and John really wonders for a second if this was some other elaborate prank from the rest of the staff of County General considering they seemed to make it their life’s mission to poke and prod at him. If they weren’t saving people’s lives, that is. Whoever it is had to have been pretty strong considering all the flailing and kicking John had done before getting tossed over their shoulder.
John knows one thing. He’s never taking a night shift again.
