Ed managed to even get through the normal pleasantries with Jackie before he blurted out, “have you any news on the gentleman pirate?”
“What, Bonnet?” Jackie shrugged, “yeah. Dead. Run over by a carriage or something.”
“Dead?” Ed’s heart stopped, “like, dead dead?”
“Did I stutter?” Jackie glared, “dead. Dead like not breathing, not walking, not pirating. Dead. Shouldn’t you already know this? You stole his ship.”

“Seems likely,” Lucius shrugged, “why?”
“We’re going to go after him, naturally.”
“Why would you bother?”
“Because I love him," Stede said around bites of snake.
“Oh,” Lucius sighed, but there was a hint of a smile on his face, “well, shit.”
