It was supposed to be just a few hours. Drive up together, deliver the giant hand to whatever weirdo had agreed to buy it off them, turn around and head back right away. He’d be home by mid-afternoon and it’d all be fine.
But then the gas runs out, and the secondary battery is drained, and the fucking Armed Forces Day parade ties up all the tow trucks from here to Denver. And Jeff’s headache has already started by the time they’re an hour and a half up the road, but by then it’s pounding so hard he can barely see straight. It’s half stress and half something else—the crash that comes after too long sober, like a hangover but worse. It’s not his body feeling like shit after too hard a night. It’s his body needing a drink, craving it. A hangover is something he can sleep or grumble his way through.
This is so much worse.
Episode tag to season 6 episode 10, "Basic RV Repair and Palmistry." After the disastrous RV road trip, Jeff deals with his issues. Abed helps, and in the process deals with his own.
