Jimin feels it again, firmer, coming from the back of his mind. He takes a deep, cold, breath in. He feels the pull of toxic magic trying to tug him to his left, to where the wall stands. He lets out a slow exhale, his own breath puffing up in front of him. And walks on. The presence in the back of his mind doesn’t grow, nor shrink. It lingers. Lingers like an ache, waiting to manifest into something deadlier.

“Fuck.” He mumbled, not able to stop him. “This is the ugliest sweater ever. There goes my winning streak.”
“Excuse me?” The man asked, staring at Jimin.
“Your sweater is going to win.” Jimin said, trying to accept his loss and behave like an adult.
“My sweater will win what?” The man looked confused.
“The ugly Christmas competition.”
It was only now that Jimin saw the man’s face, looking confused and almost hurt. “Ugly sweater competition?”
Dread ran through Jimin. “You don’t take part in the competition?” He stuttered, blushing furiously and wondering how to rescue the situation.
“I had no idea there was a competition. My grandmother made the sweater for me.”
