Summary
yoongi’s always been someone who needs time away from people. a reprieve from the otherwise loud and disorganised life he leads. and yoongi loves it, he really does; he's doing what he loves (and getting a decent pay-check, which is always a plus), and he has family and friends that he wouldn't give for the world. but he likes being alone sometimes. savours it.
but, he muses, he’ll always like being alone with seokjin a little bit better.

Summary
Team management e-mails him early in the afternoon, but it’s just after helping Jackie feed Ruby and Jade dinner, when Hayden has the chance to go to the bedroom and sit against the bed headboard, that he manages to see and read it. The language is polite but friendly, and the person writing it actually identifies herself as the lady from the team’s media relationship, Nathaly, which immediately makes the exchange feel more real. She calls Hayden by his first name too, which also helps. Hayden has read some official communication before, but they addressed the team as a whole, so he knows this is different. Nathaly is talking to him to know if there’s any way he might billet for next season.
Alternate universe where Hayden was drafted two seasons before Shane and is three years older than him. He's not quite a veteran, but, somehow, he still get picked by the Metros to house hockey's second coming of christ, Shane Hollander, during his rookie season. Shane never really leaves.

Summary
His arms ache from the CPR before the ambulance arrived, and his temples are throbbing. The cross around his neck feels heavy, like it’s pulling him through the floor. Someone must have opened a window, he thinks, his shoulders shaking in the December air. A different paramedic tells him the police will be there any minute, that he needs to sit down and take some deep breaths. He’s pulled onto a chair and someone fits an oxygen mask over his face. His skin feels wrong and he tears the mask off, fumbling with the slick plastic.
“Tell them no sirens,” Ilya gasps weakly. “Our daughter is asleep. She’s twelve years old.”
A series of vignettes about fatherhood, adoption, and the grief of an otherwise-normal Tuesday night in December. Shane and Ilya don't know if they're ready for parenthood, and ten years later, Ilya knows he's not ready to be a single dad. Set post-canon, across eighteen years of their daughter's life.

“Ahsoka,” Vader says.
“Anakin,” his wonderful, brilliant, amazing padawan whispers, pushing herself to her feet with all the grace he’d taught her (and she’d always had within her), and then: “Come home.”

Summary
“I love you both,” Anakin choked out, eyes bright and desperate, tears trickling down his face like the raindrops back on Jabiim. “I love you both so much, and I wish I could prove it to you somehow. Show it to you in some way so that there’s never any doubt in your mind for the rest of our lives. I value you more than anything. More than being a Jedi. More than the Jedi Code. And I would do anything you asked, because you were the one to ask it. That night in the club on the lower levels, when I told I loved you—I meant it then. And I mean it now.”
Swallowing hard, he gazed at Obi-Wan imploringly, transparently begging for a response that Obi-Wan knew he could not provide.
-----
In the aftermath of his undercover mission as Rako Hardeen, Obi-Wan struggles to repair his strained relationships with Anakin and Ahsoka, and is forced to come to terms with some reluctant truths regarding his priorities and loyalties as a Jedi.

Summary
“You—you think Obi-Wan is ashamed of you for being a slave?” Ahsoka asked uncertainly.
“No,” Anakin said. His voice was steady, with a cynical edge. “I think he’s ashamed of me for being me."
* * * * *
Obi-Wan overhears Ahsoka asking Anakin about his origins and can't quite ignore the temptation to stick around and listen to the remaining conversation. But Anakin's explanation of his life as a slave and then later a Jedi turns out to not be entirely accurate, and Obi-Wan is compelled to intercede.
