Summary
While heading for the Seine, Javert was diverted by a situation that rapidly spiralled out of control. Collar, chain, and Jean Valjean: he wishes that he reached the river after all.
He walked over to Valjean’s chair and fell to his knees and bowed his head.
“I am not a guest in your home,” he said, low and deliberate. “Master.”
Dystopian AU slavefic based upon the Dallas 2014 production, with characterisation and events based upon the same and shaken with very liberal splashes of Brick. Primarily worldbuilding, plot, and character development, with the slash happening as a byproduct. Fic has completed posting in its entirety.
Title taken from Demons by Imagine Dragons. Subtitled "A Treatise on the Role of the Law in the Dispensation of Mercy and Justice."

Summary
“So we just hold on fast / Acknowledge the past / As lessons exquisitely crafted / Painstakingly drafted / To carve us as instruments / That play the music of life.”
Once, there was a revolution that started for the sake of one man. But revolutions do not end after a day; a country could not be rebuilt based on changing a single law.
Still, this revolution is led by those who have looked upon history and learned from it; by those who looked upon the faces of those who suffered and said, no more. And so change comes: slow, halting, meeting with obstacles every turn, but utterly inexorable.
Sequel to all sinners crawl, covering the 18 years that passed between the ending of the fic and Epilogue 2. Please don’t read this before reading all sinners crawl, because nothing will make sense. Posting is complete..

Summary
Instead of committing suicide, Javert goes on a three-day bender. When Valjean finds him, Javert assumes he's a hallucination. Things proceed awkwardly from there.
--
“Where are you going?” the hallucination asked, which was foolish. Surely his brain knew what Javert planned.
“To the nearest--” Javert paused, looked at the recently vacated wine-ship, and amended what he had been about to say. “To the next wine-shop. Obviously I am not drunk enough if you are here.”
The apparition got to its feet with a wince, as though his mind had ridiculously conjured aches and pains with which to torment Valjean’s specter. “Javert, your words make no sense,” it said, and Javert laughed again.
“I am making perfect sense.” He touched his pocket where he kept his money, frowned. “I hope you are only a drink or two from going away. I do not know how much more beer I can afford.”

If she'd thought it through, she might have remembered Cosette's other dad.
