Summary
"Jesus, Buckaroo, what’d you do? Run through the whole lot?” Chim is saying when Eddie makes it inside.
“There aren’t that many needles,” Buck grumbles, his voice now audibly congested. Because of course he’s allergic to the tree. How Eddie didn’t notice during the forty-five minutes they spent in the tree lot is nothing short of supernatural, given the typical amount of attention he extends to Buck and his nasal passages.
OR
Buck is allergic, and Eddie suffers.

Summary
Inspired by “Beth is Dead” by Katie Bernet.
He could picture it. He’d be at the call putting his gear away, and he’d see her in the crowd and his heart wouldn’t drop, and he wouldn’t immediately be reminded of what she’d say to the world if he’d died. He’d walk up to her and ask her how she’s been. He might even have to remind her who he was, because to her—and the rest of the world—he wouldn’t be the guy who’d tragically died after their senior year. He likes to think he wouldn’t be offended or embarrassed. Maybe they’d laugh about it, maybe they’d reminisce. Or maybe they’d awkwardly part and never speak to each other again. But the truth is he’d never find out, and it was just another thing that “Death and Taxes” by Margaret Buckley had ruined for him.
OR
After a run-in with an old high school acquaintance at a scene, the 118 find out that Buck’s mom wrote a book in which he dies.

Summary
Evan "Buck" Buckley thought he had left his past behind when he traded his Navy fatigues for turnouts. For years, he’s buried the memories—of war zones, of a lost lover, of the life he swore he'd never return to. But with a series of arson attacks across LA, his past comes back to haunt him.
NCIS are called to investigate and Buck’s carefully constructed web of secrets begins to crack when Sam Hanna arrives at Station 118—because Buck knows him. Sam was once his teammate, his mentor, his brother.
When a grainy surveillance video reveals a face Buck thought he’d never see again, the ground shifts beneath his feet. Zack, the man he mourned, the man he watched die, is alive.
Working alongside NCIS and his old SEAL Team, Buck finds himself walking a dangerous tightrope. The deeper he gets, the more he risks everything—his job, his family, his friendships and the life he’s built with Eddie and Christopher.
But secrets can’t stay buried forever.
