“Yeah, you’re very Juyeon-esque. Eye-catching, you know? So tall and really pretty. Sorry, um…” Youngjae flushes red, looking like he wants the ground to swallow him up. “Your total! Cash or card?”

Eric tugs Juyeon over to a comfortable spot, with couches and a low table. Once they’re settled in, he says, “Hey, let me look at that receipt.” Juyeon hands the paper over, confused, but Eric pays him no mind, eyes glued to the purchases. There’s the cake, and its regular pricing, then right below it… “Couple’s discount? Wow, it was 50% off!”
“Oh, really? It was cheaper than I expected it to be.” Juyeon looks over at the counter with a concerned expression. “I feel a little bad…. I don’t want them to get in trouble over a small mistake like this.”
Before Juyeon can decide whether he wants to get up or not, Eric grabs his hand. “Wait, hyung. I have an idea.” He makes sure he has Juyeon’s full attention before continuing with, “They gave us the discount because they thought we were a couple, right? So all we have to do is act like a couple. That way, they don’t get in trouble, and we get to keep our discount!”
