Ollie sends an email insulting Malcolm, and may or may not have CC'd him into said email. He wished he didn't know exactly what Malcolm's anger was about, because it would’ve made the walk to Number 10 & Malcolm’s office much more entertaining. Would’ve given him a chance to guess what this was about, opposed to what felt more like being led to the gallows for a crime he knew he committed.
He could’ve sworn he heard Malcolm lock his door after he entered the room, but more pressing matters had him pay no mind to the matter.

Summary
Hours, days at most would be the longest they would go without seeing each other. It didn’t matter how long it would be, for John would always find himself waiting in the basement like a lost dog, waiting for its owner to return. Samuel was always on John’s mind, and John on Samuel’s, a small comfort.
This time, John had departed for Kolín with Samuel’s friends and family. Their separation felt too serious, too final. Neither anticipated their reunion would play out in such a way.

Summary
Sam’s commitment to John’s protection was an act of kindness, originally an offer of aid in a dire situation. He would not have described it as devotion. Loyalty? Maybe. John was undeserving of something as striking as Devotion.
But in the hours spent learning Sam’s body language, his tells for when he is upset or perhaps not telling the whole truth, or the way John had memorised each of the flecks of brown and green in his eyes- what else could that be, if not devotion? Sam was in reciprocation of those feelings- an archive of stolen glances, accidental touches in his mind. It troubled him greatly, to have such affinity to a goy and a noble.
Initial uncertainty, awkwardness, and careful formalities soon melted into a soft familiarity, affection palpable in both words and actions.

John is kept busy post Suchdol, unable to meet with Sam for months, so they keep in contact through writing to one another. It's early summer, and Sam receives a letter telling him that he is visiting. They spend their day by a small lake in a forest John once came across on a mission, vowing to himself he would take Sam there one day. John tells Sam a story of how he recently came to acquire a copy of the Canterbury tales, before reading love stories in English to him.

Shinazugawa’s insults and anger about Giyuu apparently thinking he was better than the rest of them. Usually he could let it roll off his back, but there was an intensity in the other man tonight that was just…getting under his skin.
“The hell you did! That piece of shit managed to land a hit! You would have–Would you just fuckin’–Goddammit, stop! Come here!”
Giyuu’s thread of patience snapped with an exasperated rush of breath, throwing an icy glare over his shoulder as he kept walking, biting out a petulant, “Make me.”

Douma and Enmu are two different demons in different phases of devotion. One is unfeeling, the other is a vermin to his rarity. So, the best to be done, is each other. Douma and Enmu don’t belong to each other.
They belong to Muzan. So why do they bed each other. Why do they keep seeing through another.
Won’t they be punished?
Does Douma want to lose his life, want to lose what he’s found in Enmu? In gluttony? These questions are better of unanswered while he holds a lowermoon in a position nobody should want to be in. But Enmu is different. Enmu is a dreamer.

Douma doesn’t seem to feel the need to deign Akaza’s words with a reply, eyes trailing down his body. Akaza frowns, head lolling back onto the pillow-chair-throne thing underneath him, body falling into the softness of it.
