Noel turns the discovery in his palm, regarding its gently curling leaves and pearly clusters of fruit with a furrowed brow. One of the vendors selling flowers in the marketplace handed it over with an amused look in her eye, telling him that he should take it as a gift—that it’s something very special and coveted during winter time in Academia. Noel had accepted it graciously, hiding his confusion behind a kind smile.
But he has no idea what it is. A bundle of leaves and... berries, he guesses? A “special” bundle of leaves and berries with a ribbon tied to it that suggests its use as a decoration instead of a treat.
Doesn’t look edible, anyway.
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen one of these before.”
