Summary
Zar shifted so he could capture his lips in a kiss, tender and slow. He tasted of the wine they had drunk during their evening meal, honeyed and rich, the tang of smoke from his pipe sharp underneath the sweetness of it. Gale hummed into the kiss, his eyes fluttering shut as Zar’s hands skimmed over his back. He touched him carefully, reverently, like Gale was something fragile and precious to be held in the cup of his scarred palms, like he was made of spun glass instead of flesh and blood. Gale shook in his arms, his own hands clutching and grasping at the taller man.
“Please,” he rasped, his voice strained, “I want- I need you.”
“You’ve got me,” Zar promised. For all his viciousness in the battlefield, here he was gentle, his touch sweet and careful as he slipped his hands under the soft velvet of Gale’s shirt.

"Have a seat, Professor." She urged, sliding her hand from his face to his chest and stepping forward, encouraging him to walk back into the plush armchair that sat slightly behind his desk. "You've had a long day of lecturing. Allow me to express my appreciation for your hard work and dedication."
Gale didn't protest, positioning himself comfortably in the chair as she straddled him, her fingers pulling apart the fabric of his robes at his chest. "What happened to private lessons? Shouldn't I be the one taking the lead, here?"
"We're still in public, technically." Neri pointed out, her tone amusingly matter-of-fact. "Our private lessons can be conducted at home—in private. Right now, here . . . " She pressed her lips to his in a kiss that was as firm and needy as it was tender and loving, leaving both of them panting when she pulled away. "Here and now, I want the man. I want you. Magic later."
