Summary
Leia Organa is stuck in a time loop, repeating the day of her interrogation on board the Death Star. As she keeps defying Darth Vader, he keeps killing her. Yet every time after dying, she wakes up on the same morning again. How did she get stuck like this? How could she possibly convince Vader to spare her life and maybe even let her go? Well, apparently now she has all the time in the galaxy to figure it out.
Meanwhile, unbeknownst to her, a certain farm boy is going through a similar experience. All Luke Skywalker wanted to do was get some power converters from Tosche station. Yet he has to chase after droids, rescue his family from Stormtroopers and listen over and over again to an old Jedi shamelessly lying to his face about his birth father. There's only so many iterations of this pointlessly repeating day a young man can take before he'll do something crazy.

Summary
Tim's dad is dead, killed by a boomerang to the chest, and Tim is an orphan now. He knows Bruce would adopt him if needed but he couldn't possibly impose himself on the Wayne's more than he already has. It's okay though, because he has a plan for this, he just needs someone to play the role of his estranged "Uncle Eddie".
Except... the guy he hires is weirdly concerned about his well being and Tim can't figure out why.
Meanwhile, Jason Todd is forced to reevaluate his plans for his debut as Red Hood, because, as it turns out, his replacement is a suicidal idiot who can't be trusted to stay out of trouble.
OR
Tim Drake fails to recognize Jason Todd, back from the dead, and hires him to be his Uncle Eddie to avoid getting adopted by Batman. Somehow this ruins everyone's plans.

Summary
Tim Drake never actually wanted to become part of the Robin-Batman-vigilante outfit. No, really. But the last Robin up and died, and now Batman is going crazy, and no one else is doing anything about it, so...Tim decides to become Robin. He might as well, right? At the very least it'll give him something to do while his parents are gone.
Still, Tim's not taking up the mantle until he can put a couple of things in order. Step one? Making sure the Joker can't get it into his head to kill another Robin. Not ever again. (Good thing Tim's not the one with a 'no killing' rule.)
And then after that? Well, after that it's only just a matter of keeping Batman from learning Tim's identity and subsequently chasing him off. Not until Bruce can get back on his feet and pick a new Robin, a real one this time. Easy-peasy.
