Wolfwood narrows his eyes. He reaches out and runs a hand along Vash’s other, uninjured wing. The effect is instant, Vash practically melting into the touch and letting out a purr loud enough to rival Angelina II’s crappy motor.
“Holy shit, you purr.”
“Shut up, no I don’t!” Vash whines, still clearly purring.
Vash gets hurt when he uses his wings to fly him and Wolfwood off a cliff during a confrontation with bounty hunters. Wolfwood discovers a new, interesting fact about plant physiology.

He felt almost removed from his body, like he was floating and not really conscious. Open the door, climb inside, fumble for the keys still in the ignition. This was it. He was just … going home.
