Jackie broke the kiss, her forehead resting against Shauna’s. Her eyes were shut tight, her lashes dark against her flushed skin. “Shauna,” she whispered, the name carrying the weight of every unspoken fear and every blossoming hope. “I… I’ve never…”
“I know,” Shauna murmured, her own voice trembling with the magnitude of it. She kissed Jackie’s eyelids, one after the other. “Me neither. We don’t have to…”
“I want to,” Jackie interrupted, her eyes snapping open. They were clear, certain, fixed on Shauna’s. “I want to with you. I’m just… I’m scared I won’t know what to do.”
A soft, loving smile touched Shauna’s lips. She brought her hand up, cradling Jackie’s face. “We’ll figure it out together,” she promised, her thumb stroking Jackie’s cheek. “Every single step. I’m not going anywhere, remember? And I’ll take care of you. I promise.”
Jackie searched her face, looking for any hint of doubt, any trace of hesitation. Finding only unwavering certainty and a love so deep it made her own eyes well up again, she nodded, a small, decisive movement. She guided Shauna’s hand from her face back down to her waist, her own hand covering it, pressing it firmly against her hip.

“Hm, you really should wear a tie next time,” Caitlyn said thoughtfully, and Vi could see she was already planning outfits for whatever next time there was gonna be. Vi raised her chin, grinning warmly under the attention.
“Yeah? Think I’d look good in one?”
“That, and,” Caitlyn reached a hand forward to brush her fingers lightly over Vi’s exposed collarbone, her voice practically dripping with that tone. “So I can do this.”
She fisted the hand touching Vi, keeping contact as she did so Vi can feel her nails scrape, and then yanked the fist back in a motion mimicking pulling a tie taut towards her. Vi swallowed, suddenly very focused, and she leaned forward like Caitlyn was actually pulling her in.
“Okay,” Vi said in a husky whisper. “Yeah, tie would good.”
Caitlyn takes Vi to a work party. They sneak away.

“Well, guess that’s it.” Vi had the world’s dopiest of smiles, as butterflies made a home for themselves in her stomach. “We’re… actually having a baby.”
“I suppose we are…” Caitlyn tested the placement of her left hand to her abdomen again, feeling both mystified and a bit scared. “What do we do?” She asked suddenly.
Vi pursed her lips and exhaled with a shake of her head. “No idea.” Vi followed her gaze and smiled, those butterflies seeming to multiply as she asked such a simple question. “You still wanna do this?”
Smiling, Caitlyn nodded as she hummed. “Yep. And you?” She asked, her smile fading for only a moment.
Vi grinned widely as she gave a quick nod. This was all she ever wanted. “Already got the due date memorized, Cupcake.”
