Summary
Watford University has an old tradition, every first years are paired by what is called the Tuitum. It means that those two students must work as a team for all three years of undergrad. Of course Baz was paired with Simon Snow, the protégé of his mother murderer. It doesn't mean that Baz is able to control his feelings for Simon or that Simon understand what is going on. Everything changes when Simon got assigned the cold case of Natasha Grimm-Pitch as its 3rd year dissertation.

Summary
Baz Pitch is an overworked uni student who -- between his heavy course load and his shifts at his aunt's bookstore -- is stressed all the time. There are expectations on him to follow the family footsteps, and he doesn't want to deal with that right now. His aunt Fiona's bookstore is his one oasis in this (except for on poetry slam nights) and he's glad to have her -- even if she does come with her own brand of crazy.
But when Simon Snow, a lit student with a short temper who's trying to distance himself from his bad history, starts working at the bookstore, Baz's life gets infinitely more stressful. Amidst bad poetry slams, author signings, getting locked in storerooms and gaining a (unwanted) roommate, Baz comes to realise that Simon Snow is so much more than he's prepared to take on.

But what happens when Simon starts suspecting that Don, Baz’s boyfriend, might be doing Baz more harm than he is doing good?We also find out what happened to Baz during the summer and how it all - including Don - is connected to Natasha Pitch's murder.
