“Shilo tells me you’ve been keeping an eye out for her. Even though you haven’t spoken to her since before the Opera,” Amber says casually.
Graverobber stares. “You two speak? Regularly?”
A beat.
“About me?” he adds.
“It’s kind of weird that you’re not talking to her,” Amber continues, ignoring the question. “I don’t know. I just think if you care enough to look out for her, you could at least say hi. Or are you too scared to show that you have a heart?” She asks, grinning.
“Oh, come on. Go back to the bit where you two were speaking.” Graverobber says.

Graverobber keeps an eye on Shilo, after the Opera, but he isn't quite as observant as he thought. Shilo makes a friend, and then another.

Before Mag could even ask, Marni squeezed her hand. “That’s Nath–um, that’s Dr. Wallace. He did your surgery. He’s about to turn your eyes on. You just needed to wake up first, because–”
“Sometimes the shock of waking up to full sight can be a bit much for some patients. I find it’s better to gradually ease the patient in, so they aren’t overwhelmed. Are you ready, Ms. Defoe?”
“Yes.” A machine clicked, and she could hear the doctor fiddling with a console next to her bed. There was an unfamiliar sensation in her face, a warmth, a… static. And then… the darkness she saw every day since birth began to shift in hue. Light began to work its way into her vision. Blobs of muted desaturated color. The blobs soon became shapes. The colors gaining saturation. The first thing she saw as her vision improved? Marni.
She looked more beautiful than she imagined. Her skin, her hair, the cameo necklace that Mag had touched so many times. Those lips. The ones she had once kissed a few years back after a couple too many glasses of wine.
And her eyes. So full of light, of love, of joy. Eyes that were looking at the doctor. But then, at Mags. “It’s a beautiful day, Maggie. Chase the morning…”
