"GREAT! Just great! As if this could GET any better!" Zanka bites out, seething. Of course he's stuck here, injured, in a damp, dirty cell, and of course he's stuck here with fucking Jabber of all people.
Jabber whistles appreciatively, "Man, you're in a mood today. Wake up on the wrong side of the bed?" and cackles at his own joke. Zanka's gonna strangle him. He's gonna rip out those bars with his bare hands and use them to beat Jabber to death.

It was any other night. The moon was high in the sky, a breeze fitted through to let the cold biting air seep into his bones. The winter nights were always the coldest, with nothing to accompany him aside from the sound of snow crunching beneath his feet and the distant crackling of the barren branches above his head. The lantern light of a town did little to sway his mind, nothing more than a small amber glow nestled deep within the darkness all around him.
He was alone on this night as any other. The last time his voice had left him was days ago. The snow began falling gently from the sky, silent as it fluttered around him in tiny white specs. Snowflakes hit his nose, cool to the touch before they melted into tiny drops. The forest was quiet all around him even as his footsteps broke the silence. He’s alone. He was the second he had set off for his mission and said goodbye to those at the demon slayer corps. The forest was his only company, and it was silence that answered him.
He’s alone.
He thought he was.
