Summary
Ever since they were little kids on the playground together, Uruha and Fushimi have been best friends, and as the years go by neither of them are able to admit that it might be something more. Then Uruha is chosen as the wielder of Kumeyuri, and they're separated when he goes to fight in the Seitei War.
Unable to wait for him, Fushimi enlists. He's hoping that he'll be able to find him when he's joined up with the Counter Sorcery Land Forces, sending letter after letter to go unanswered. Meanwhile, Uruha is fighting his way across the country, unaware that the friend he's fallen in love with isn't safe at home and waiting for him after all.
Surrounded by death at every turn, neither of them know if they'll ever get the chance to see each other again, and admit what they should have said long ago.
