If they weren’t saved then the venom in Sojo, the nights of being bitten and bled, the sound of the skittering bugs in the dark – those things wouldn’t have festered like rot and they wouldn’t have bloomed like flowers. But flowers cannot bloom without the sun, and the sun was coming.
Or - Sojo and Fushimi, childhood friends, are taken captive during the Seitei War. Both of them are changed, and set on very different paths.
