“So we’re back to this?” Vi breathed out as Caitlyn situated herself between her legs.
“Depends what you mean by this.” She readjusted so that their hips were flush together, Vi leaning back on her elbows with one leg propped up.
“Being a cold bitch.”
Caitlyn’s expression faltered for a moment but as she moved further into Vi’s space her eyes drifted to the pink flush appearing. She scoffed. “You seem warm enough to me, darling.”
The camera began clicking in front of them, both of them focusing on posing.
“Vi, I’ll get you to place the hand closest to the camera on Caitlyn’s butt. Caitlyn, is that okay?”
“Yep, fine.” Her pulse was quickening.
“Butt.” Vi snorted.
Caitlyn rolled her eyes but Vi could see her smile a little. “Just do it.”
“So needy.”

“So stupid,” Caitlyn muttered, taking a seat on a bench. She was already soaked, so it’s not like she could get any wetter. She tilted her head back and closed her eyes, letting the rain pelt her face and wash away any evidence of crying.
Disappointment was an ugly, heavy thing. It settled in your chest and stomach like a rock but twisted and churned like the angry sea, breaking you down bit by bit. The feeling turned everything to grey somehow. Your shoulders dragged with the weight of it, and it loomed over your life, getting bigger and bigger the more it was let in.
This was Caitlyn’s penance, she realized. For expecting too much. For asking for more than she deserved. For wanting more from a girl who didn’t want her at all. The girl she loved with her whole heart who obviously didn’t love her back.

Vi is just trying to get through her final year with good enough grades to graduate so she can get out of the hellhole that is Stillwater High School and leave all her shitty classmates behind.
Meanwhile Caitlyn is counting down the days until school finishes, and she can leave Piltover, finally getting out of her parents’ shadow.
