The familiar sight of the entrance of the Compound feels like a mockery. Just a little. Just like the sun, like it's glaring at him and seething because he's alive and that's impossible, and because he let things get bad enough to get to this point. He should've been able to stop this. He's Iron Man.

Peter didn't want to dwell on it, but that didn't mean he could stop himself. His mind was drawn to the number as he opened the laptop. 20. As a kid, he'd been so excited to be an adult; he'd volunteer at the homeless shelter with May, maybe get an internship at Stark Industries or Oscorp, and go to MIT and get his bachelors in physics. If he could afford it, but as a kid the money didn't matter as much as the idea of being so smart and helping people.

Peter's lost everything. His aunt, MJ, Ned, his home, and now he doesn't even have a roof over his head. Life is crashing down on him and, God, its so cold.

Blood keeps running in and along his suit, and he wonders as he moves if he needs to wash it. Maybe he can go to the laundromat at like, 3 am. People aren't watching other people's laundry that late at night, they usually just wanna go home.
Eh, either way, he's got some stuff he needs to take care of. Maybe he wasn't lying to Robin after all.
Peter's body is trembling as he swings, the air around him feeling like it's cooling down rapidly. His muscles keep burning, his hands tense around his webs. The lids of his eyes are heavy. Exhaustion similar to the type he felt the night before is sinking into his bones alongside the hunger and loneliness.
He only realizes he's falling when it's already too late.

Summary
Frank, this sort of weird, short punk, has just moved into the small town where the Ways and Ray live. Gerard, an artist who usually sticks to himself and his close friends (*cough cough*, his brother and childhood best friend who basically adopted him *cough cough*), finds himself drawn to him, a feeling he has never felt this strongly before.
One night, Gerard finds himself wandering the streets, and happens upon Frank's band, Death Spells, playing in a venue. The small crush he has on Frank transforms into a full-blown hopeless attraction, and he isn't sure how to deal with it.
(I'm bad at summaries. I swear this fanfic is worth a look!)
