“My heart,” Yusuf whispers, kissing Nicolò’s cheek and then his lips. He tastes the cold wind in them, and he wonders if Nicolò can taste the sourness of the wine in his. “You had me worried.”
Nicolò’s eyes soften, and he kisses Yusuf back with intent, before hoovering over his shoulder to inspect the stew. There’s a pained look on his face and Yusuf knows he’s feeling guilty.
“It’s no matter,” Yusuf says sincerely. “It’s not often I get to make you Christmas dinner.”
In the year of Our Lord 1608, Christmas fell during the Holy month of Ramadan.

A joyful reunion, a long-awaited time of peace where social class and war no longer determine their future.
Though it may seem like a fairy tale, the course of fate does end up bringing the noble Lord and his faithful Squire back together, this time, free to choose who and what they want to be. If anything, this should've been the perfect happy ending they could've asked for, and Hans can't be any more grateful for this second chance at meeting his beloved Henry.
But when memories of their past tragedy keep repeating in his mind over and over again, a seed of doubt begins to plant itself in his heart, slowly growing into a bud of anxiety.
