Summary
Dean Winchester has been unfairly imprisoned for the murder of his father’s wife, Kate Milligan. Fifteen years; fifteen long years, until one night on his death bed, John finally confessed that he had killed her. Dean is set free with nothing more than a brief apology from the state's prison system. Now he must face this new world alone; well not alone, his brother is trying to help him, but it’s hard when you have been isolated for years. No one wants to hire him. No one wants someone that has been in jail, plus he has almost no education.
He is surviving, almost missing the comfort of his cell, when one day he sees a lesbian couple eating a rainbow cake and being harassed by a man. Dean cannot tolerate it, so he intervenes. He’s pretty sure the owner, the guy with the messy dark hair, is going to throw him out and tell him never to come back, but instead he brings him inside the bakery and takes care of his wounds. He tells Dean it was brave and when he finds out Dean needs a job, he hires him.
They immediately form a strong bound. Can Dean finally find the happiness he’d wanted for so long?

After several mysterious coincidences and run-ins with the private army of a local warlord, Dean is sure that Cas knows more about the kidnappings of village schoolgirls than he’s saying. As Dean is drawn further into the mystery, and the desert, he doesn’t know if he can trust this man he’s falling for.

Three weeks ago, Dean woke up in a pine box. He thought dealing with the nightmares was going to be the most difficult part of his new life after Hell, but at least they were something he could understand. Something he could deal with. Something he deserved.
Then he began having agonizing visions of crucifixion. Wounds appeared on his body out of nowhere. Wounds that refused to heal and coated his skin with the sickly sweet smell of roses.
Stigmata are said to be the marks of saints, but Dean is not a saint and the wounds are only the beginning.

As they start filming and working together, Jared realizes Danneel’s prediction was right. He and Jensen do hit it off. Sure Jensen is quirky and sometimes (okay, a lot of times) uncomfortably direct to the point of being rude. But once Jared figures out Jensen isn’t actually mean as much as he’s just a little clueless (and mostly unconcerned) about the rules of social interactions, it stops bothering him.

The only luck Jensen seems to be having lately is bad – he's accidentally come out to his family and been disowned (sort of), had his lyrics stolen by his best friend (now ex) who he last saw sipping champagne on an episode of CMT Cribs, and is one late rent payment from being thrown out on his ass because apparently no one wants to buy insurance from a guy with an eyepatch (don't ask).
But things finally start to look up when he meets his hot new neighbor, Jared, and of course that's when Jensen has to go and get himself killed.
Turns out the afterlife? Not all it's cracked up to be. And his death coach is kind of a douche, too.

Jared and Jensen are fighting tooth and nail to win in the most eventful and fiercely competitive season ever, but when disaster strikes, buried emotions can’t stay ignored for long.
Loosely based on RL events in the 1976 F1 season and the movie Rush but with a very fictional J2 spin that veers drastically away from reality and movie events. You shouldn't need any knowledge of F1 or the movie to enjoy the fic.
