Corona has a lot to navigate, especially our much loved found family of Rapunzel, Eugene, Cassandra, Varian, and Lance. The road to healing is never easy, especially when emotions run as high as they do for these five. They have a lot to talk about.
This fic takes place within the time skip between the final battle and Cassandra’s departure in canon. Part filler, part projection, part “take that, Cass haters!”

All chatter around the table stops as she tries to get oxygen into her lungs. Isabela put a hand on her back, shouting questions into her ear like she couldn't hear her before and like she can answer with a piece of empanada stuck in her throat.
" ¿Escuchas eso, Linguini? Ese es el sonido de alguien muriendo! Ese seré yo si no me das esa maldita arepa– "

The Madrigals had just gotten their gifts back, and Dolores was devastated, forced to hear everything again. Every carefully placed step, every tranquil whisper, every little clatter and clash, she heard it all. The noise all around her was driving her insane. Dolores felt her problems were so insignificant compared to everyone else, so she sucked it up, not realizing it was slowly killing her.
