Tim grinned, and watched as Jason took his shot. His own shot still tasted like hand-sanitizer, he sighed.
“You’ve dyed your hair?“, he asked afterwards. He figured the white strand was just a side effect of the pit and not a misguided effort on Jason’s part to appear as an e-boy or something. Who knew? He wasn’t judging either way, dying probably gave him a free-pass, style wise.
(Who was Tim kidding? If that strand was really bleached, he was very much judging.)

“About your body?”
Tim nodded, pulling at a thread in the blanket.
“I knew I was… Um… You know…”
“Dying?” Jason suggested.
Tim’s breath caught and he looked up at Jason with wide eyes. It was one thing for Damian to say it, another thing for Tim to think it, but this was Jason. The crazy, messed up, loving, Jason. His older brother, his rock, his absolute pain in the ass of a coworker and friend.
“You nearly fell off a building, Drakey-Boy.” Jason said. “After you coughed up blood. And before you had a fever that peaked at 107 because you always want to outdo the rest of us, you little shit. Your health is getting worse, not better. And it’s just going to keep getting worse.”
“Yeah…” Tim mumbled. “Yeah, it will.”

Tim Drake's immune system is failing, every infection and illness chipping away at his body and his resolve. Jason thinks that he has found an immunotherapy that might help but that would involve Tim admitting not only that he needs the help, but actually accepting that he deserves the help too.
