Summary

Summary
The next time Wei Wuxian became aware of his surroundings and was able to form semi-coherent thoughts, Wen Zhuliu had just finished tying weights to his feet. Both his arm and his back were still bleeding and he felt as if he had been flayed.
“Should I make it quick?” Wen Zhuliu asked him, offering a small mercy.
But Wei Wuxian shook his head. “Give me your worst,” he snarled, his teeth coated in blood from where he had bitten his tongue at some point. “I will come back to end you all,” he promised darkly.
“Very well,” Wen Zhuliu merely said and drowned him.
Or: Yu Ziyuan cuts off Wei Wuxian's hand to appease the Wens. He gets drowned in the lake behind Lotus Pier and resentful energy transforms him into a river spirit. After avenging his own death, he finds his way to Yiling.

In his opinion, Wei Ying was adjusting well to his new life as a university student far away from his hometown and family. He got into new hobbies, made some amazing friends and did well in his studies.
Now, if he could only befriend that handsome guy, he kept running into. Something about him caught Wei Ying's attention and he just couldn't stop thinking about him. It almost felt, as if they had met before. Seeing him reminded Wei Ying of the smell of sandalwood incense and the taste of a fragrant wine, while making his heart yearn for something he couldn't quite name.

They probably wouldn’t even be able to live in the Burial Mounds for long, but as it was, Lan Wangji allowed himself to hope that they would be able to continue surviving here as long as necessary and one day, they would be able to escape this place.

Summary: No one expected for the world to come to end the night before the guest lectures started in the Cloud Recesses. Cultivation sects are about to face a threat they had never seen before, and Wei Wuxian somehow lands himself right into the middle of it. They can only save themselves and others by working together. But it couldn't be easy when every sect has their own goals and ambitions.
My comments: So far, only the first chapter has been posted, but I'm already very much hooked! No idea where this story is going, but the tension was high from the start! The study arc starts with unknown and undefeatable monsters appearing and Wangxian pretty much get to know each other through a fight - count me in! Apart from Xuanli, there's also some interesting side pairs listed: Nie Mingjue/Wen Qing and Jiang Cheng/Qin Su and I am so intriqued! Can't wait to see where the story takes us! Especially considering the tags too: time travel? Apocalypse? Sombody Lives/Not everbody dies? Count me in!
Excerpt: "Watch out," the impudent rule-breaker shouted suddenly.
A bright glint of unsheathed sword rushed towards him and Lan Wangji shifted to the left to avoid it. As far as tricks went, this was the most outrageous he had ever seen. Ready to rebuke the troublemaker, Lan Wangji opened his mouth and promptly choked on his own words when an arm clutched his waist and a powerful movement shoved him away and behind the attacker's back. A moment later a loud shriek followed, a sound so alien and inhumane that Lan Wangji felt blood chilling in his veins.
There really was something behind him.
He let his emotions cloud his judgment and didn't believe a fellow cultivator when warned about danger. Do not judge unjustly. Lan Wangji did just that, breaking the rules he went to such effort to uphold when trying to detain the wayward visiting disciple. He let the initial dislike rein over his rationality, almost resulting in a grave outcome, were it not for the bravery and strength of said visiting disciple. A cultivator must always remain clear-headed, his uncle's words ran through his mind. He was not. And a lapse of judgment like this one could've resulted in something truly horrible during a night-hunt.
"A little help would've been much appreciated," the same too loud voice rang again.

It was a surprise to him too.
My comments: This story is actually one of the first ones I read after joining the fandom, so it has a very special place in my heart. It's also an absolute epic! Unfinished as of yet, but already close to 300k words and it's really got everything! I love the royal setting and the cinderella elements to it all and all the mysteries and at the core it, Wangxian's relationship. The way they just can't help being drawn towards each other, even with the odds stacked against them. Honestly, just thinking about this story is immediately making me want to re-read it again.
Excerpt: Wei Wuxian rolled his eyes. “Yes, even servants know what a Finding is,” he said, exasperated. “But that’s for your mate, not for some stranger you picked up in the first town you came across.” Lan Wangji could actually see the moment the thought crossed Wei Wuxian’s mind, and made no move to stop him, already amused. “Wait, I’m not-” he said, vaguely horrified.
“No,” Lan Wangji told him firmly. Wei Wuxian’s scent was all wrong to him, the bland sourness of it not repulsive or unpleasant, but definitely a warning-off. That elusive note of spice and sugar was a different story, but it was barely an echo in Wei Wuxian’s over-all scent.
“Oh good,” Wei Wuxian said, relaxing, then casting Lan Wangji an apologetic look. “Not that you’re not, you know,” he said, gesturing at Lan Wangji with some awkwardness. “But I’m a beta, I don’t have much of a scent-sense, and I don’t think you’re- I mean, honestly, I don’t think I’m anyone’s true mate. So. I’m making this worse, aren’t I?” Lan Wangji nodded solemnly, and Wei Wuxian burst out laughing again. “Forget mates, what’s this about you being bad at making friends?” he demanded. “We’re going to be great friends, Lin Zhan.”

He has no money, no family, but a knowledge of modern cultivation and of the historical events that are about to unfold.
He recalls the recently-unearthed journal of a woman who was imprisoned in Cloud Recesses against her will, and decides that she’s a good place to start to find someone who might be willing to help him dismantle the corruption that had sent the Cultivation World into the Dark Ages so long ago.
Of course, he had no idea that the person he sought would be the mother of Hanguang-Jun, the object of Wei Wuxian's fascination (“obsession,” his friend had corrected), since he had first learned of his existence in the ancient texts he'd studied.

My comments: I don't know how Kizu keeps thinking up these delicious concepts! Modern cultivator nerd Wei Wuxian transmigrating into the past and into street child A-Ying's body and now with a mission to find Mama Lan! Like, incredible! I'm so here for it! I'm having the time of my life reading this! I love how much of a nerd Wei Wuxian is and how he's thinking his every step through carefully, but also struggling to adapt because his mind is essentially a child's and he's getting overwhelmed and I can't wait to see how he gets to Gusu!!
Excerpt: "Don't you come begging from me this morning, you brat," the woman snapped. "I saw you take the bag of food earlier."
Wei Wuxian bowed, hoping that any mistakes in the type of bow he made would be chalked up to his young age rather than lack of knowledge of social customs in whatever era he’d landed in.
"I heard what the man said, about the cold food. I have a way to keep the food you make for an entire day," Wei Wuxian said, relieved to find that the words came out in the right dialect without stumbling.
The woman glared at him, grabbing a large, wooden spoon and raising it threateningly at him. Wei Wuxian's body instinctively flinched back, having had direct experience with what it felt like to be beaten by that spoon in the past.

My comments: Oh, I am so hooked on this story! This already has such cute meet-cute vibes with Wei Ying being the new kid at school and immediately trying his best to befriend Lan Zhan and I so love Wei Ying's vibes in this story. And then there's also the modern cultivation aspect of it! Wei Ying seeing ghosts! Baoshan Sanren being around as a mentor-like figure! Yanli being girlfriends with Mianmian! So much to love!
Excerpt: Lan Zhan clenched his hand tightly at his side. “What do you want?”
The other student seemed startled by his hostility and began speaking way too fast. “Wait, please hear me out! I’m really sorry about the other night. The whole thing was a misunderstanding. I was drunk—,”
“I could tell,” Lan Zhan cut in rudely, but the loud man responded with a cheerful laugh.
“I know, I know, but I didn’t mean anything by what I said, I swear. I was just confused.” He pressed his palms together pleadingly. “Can we just pretend it never happened?”
Lan Zhan was stunned. He hadn’t expected an apology, and he didn’t know how to take it. Was the whole thing really a mistake? Should he just let it go?
He looked down at the uniforms they were both wearing and thought, if we end up on a team together… it would be best to put conflict aside.
He nodded his head. “It never happened.”

Summary
Wei Wuxian didn’t imagine acquiring a cat like this, nor did he imagine acquiring a fluffy white cat that, even covered in dirt and debris and clutched to a four-year-old’s chest like a teddy bear, manages to give the impression it’s judged his entire life and found it deeply wanting.
“Uh, A’Yuan,” he asks slowly, just in case this is a hallucination. “Who’s this?”
“A cat,” A’Yuan says proudly, leaning his round cheek against the top of the cat’s head, while the cat continues to look at Wei Wuxian like he’s wearing week-old clothes covered in food stains.
Or: Wei Wuxian gets a cat, and then a boyfriend, both of which are a surprise.
