Kaladin sheathed his knife, taking a weary step away from the man in the green Shardplate, only for the world to snap off cold. For a moment, everything was oddly bright, colors saturated, blurred. “Kaladin!” Syl screamed.
The man in the unadorned King’s Plate had his fist buried in Kaladin’s side.
Elit is a sore loser. When he throws a Shardplate-enhanced punch at Kaladin after surrendering, Kaladin has no choice but to use Stormlight to heal--in front of the entire Alethi court. Summary
Kaladin gets caught out in the Everstorm during a battle. Leshwi saves his life when she could easily have taken him off the field for good.
And then... she just keeps saving him. And Kaladin saves her. And something grows between them that's more than mutual respect and honor. Something that might jeopardize all the oaths he currently stands on.
For even if they're on opposite sides of a war, how can he try to kill someone he loves?
