    Summary

For years, Kaladin and Adolin have shared dreams of each other—dreams Kaladin forces himself to forget—without knowing the other’s identity.

But before they can even meet, Moash convinces Kaladin to help him assassinate the King and his family, setting events in motion that could ruin everything before it even began.

    ⊹˙⋆ ⛧ ⋆˙⊹ ⊹˙⋆ ⛧ ⋆˙⊹ ⊹˙⋆ ⛧ ⋆˙⊹ ⊹˙⋆ ⛧ ⋆˙⊹

    Moash had won.

    He’d broken it.

He’d broken the only thing Kaladin had ever let himself want.

And then the final words, the ones Kaladin had feared above all, came like a death sentence.

“I’m glad you’re here, Kal,” Moash said quietly, “You’ll get to see it. What I should’ve done from the start.”

His voice was cold and certain.

“Maybe you’ll even help me. Just like you promised you would.”

    The world cracked around him.

No. Stormfather, no. Not him. Not Adolin. Please.

    Summary

When Kaladin awkwardly admits he’s never kissed anyone—not even held hands—he’s humiliated.

Adolin, his best friend and longtime secret crush, offers to help: flirting tips, kissing lessons, everything. Just as friends.

Kaladin agrees, knowing it might ruin him. Because he’s in love with Adolin. And Adolin doesn’t feel the same.

Or so he thinks… until a kiss meant to be practice turns into something else entirely.

    ⊹˙⋆ ⛧ ⋆˙⊹ ⊹˙⋆ ⛧ ⋆˙⊹ ⊹˙⋆ ⛧ ⋆˙⊹ ⊹˙⋆ ⛧ ⋆˙⊹

Adolin smiled, just a little too knowingly, “So… how about it? Think you’d be willing to show me just how well I taught you to kiss?”

Kaladin was never going to get used to this. To Adolin speaking to him like that.

Still, somehow, he found the nerve to narrow his eyes in mock challenge.

“You sure you’re ready to see just how good of a kisser I’ve become?” Kaladin asked.

Adolin’s eyebrows rose, lips parting into a handsome grin. He leaned in slowly.

“I’ll always be ready,” Adolin said, “Because I’m the one who taught you. And you…” He brought his lips so close they were almost brushing, “You’re never going to kiss anyone else. You’re mine.”

    Summary

What-If: Kaladin is Adolin’s betrothed instead of Shallan, but with a twist.

    P.S.: It was Wit’s idea.

    ⊹˙⋆ ⛧ ⋆˙⊹ ⊹˙⋆ ⛧ ⋆˙⊹ ⊹˙⋆ ⛧ ⋆˙⊹ ⊹˙⋆ ⛧ ⋆˙⊹

Wit continued before he could interrupt, “What if there was a way to, maybe not stop Sadeas, but make it practically impossible for him to act on his threats? A way to not only shut down rumors about your House, your presumed insanity, your visions—but also the ones about why Adolin has been ignoring every marriage proposal he’s received? And, in the process, ensure Kaladin’s status as untouchable?”

Dalinar’s stomach twisted. He had a bad feeling about this.

“I don’t have time for this, Wit,” he said, “Speak plainly.”

Wit leaned back in his chair. Without breaking eye contact, he said, “We betroth Kaladin to Adolin.”

    Dalinar stared at him.

“You’re joking,” Dalinar said once his mouth regained its ability to form words.

    Silence stretched between them.

    Wit was not joking.

Dalinar missed the person he was before this conversation.

    Summary

Back in business, with the first two chapters refurbished!

“I want you to handle a big mission, something important.” And this is the perfect opportunity, because, how hard can capturing one teenager be? It said. It left another sour taste in Adolin’s mouth to think about how the leader of the storming rebellion was barely an adult. But, this was the perfect opportunity. He could prove himself to his father- no matter how ‘easy’ the mission may be.

Kaladin is the leader of a rebellion and Adolin is personally charged with taking down said rebellion and dispatching Kaladin.

    Summary

After Shadesmar, Kaladin finally confesses his love to Adolin. It goes horribly wrong. Adolin pulls away, colder than ever, and Bridge Four begins to drift away from him. Only Syl remains by his side.

Haunted by regret, Kaladin watches everything he loves slip through his fingers. As Adolin prepares to marry Shallan, Kaladin is left with nothing but the crushing silence of what could’ve been.

He begins to believe the world would be better without him. That maybe, finally, it’s time to let go.

But just as he’s about to let go, he realizes something. Something that changes everything.

    ⊹˙⋆ ⛧ ⋆˙⊹ ⊹˙⋆ ⛧ ⋆˙⊹ ⊹˙⋆ ⛧ ⋆˙⊹ ⊹˙⋆ ⛧ ⋆˙⊹

Adolin knew exactly what he was doing.

“It’s only right,” he added, “That you see how happy I am. Without you.”

Kaladin felt the blood drain from his face.

His lungs refused to expand. His body went rigid. He thought he might be sick.

Adolin turned away, as if that were the end of the conversation. As if he’d merely delivered a formal report and had more important places to be.

    And he walked off.

    Just like that.

    Summary

“We Bond not only the human as he is, but as he will be one day, Ancient Daughter.”

The plot to assassinate Elhokar had been so close to succeeding.
If one ignored the appearance of an insistent windspren.
And the betrayal of a Shardbearer.
    And the swearing of Ideals.
And the realization sparked between two friends just in time.
And the exit of the assassin himself from the palace with the King on his back.

As the True Desolation claims Roshar, hope becomes a fragile thing, a gaunt flame wavering in the darkness. But one shouldn’t be consigned to darkness because it is reflected in one’s eyes.

Two people understand this best of all—they, who have moved forward, but look backward. They, whose eyes burn alight, but are as dark as ever.

Who better to look out for the darkeyes and slaves of Alethkar and beyond than a pair of darkeyed slaves-turned-Radiants?

    “Kaladin. You keep… staring.”

Whatever quarrel the two had was none of Drehy’s business, certainly. But this was a unique opportunity for his comrades. He turned- just for a moment- to the long table across the alehouse that hosted the rest of Bridge Four.

“Lopen!” he called out. Several of the bridgemen’s heads turned; like axehounds sniffing for blood? No, no. Like Brightladies searching for gossip. “We’ve a new round for betting.”

    Or: The gang goes drinking.

Kaladin Stormblessed is the picture of discipline and restraint, but there’s one mystery Bridge Four can’t crack—why does Kaladin drink so little? What they don’t know (and Kaladin is determined they’ll never find out) is that, despite his legendary reputation, he’s only 19 years old and technically not old enough to be drinking most of the alcohol they casually enjoy. But secrets have a way of slipping out, especially when you’re stuck with a bunch of nosy soldiers...

    Summary

Syl unknowingly sends Rock on a two-year mission and Bridge Four receives the Sadeas Culinary Experience.
    ————————————————
The first bundle he collected during the few times stone-gathering duty coincided with a recent highstorm.

“I knew Horneaters smelled bad, but you’re making me think you slept in the latrines after pot-cleaning detail.” Teft growled.

The second bundle he collected while taking new recruits patrolling with Kaladin.

Kaladin absently held his Kholin blue sleeve to his nose, then cursed as his horse lurched under him, clutching at the reins with two white-knuckled hands.

The third bundle he collected outside Aladar’s camp, now abandoned with most of his men settling in Urithiru.

“First Huio revolutionizing shiki, then you getting intimate with chull dung? Soon the Lopen will be made head chef, sure!”

    Summary

The game was a simple one, with one rule and one objective. The rule: Don’t let the captain catch on to what we’re up to. The objective: manage to knock the captain off-balance.
So far, no one was winning, except the captain, except he didn’t count because he didn’t know about the game.

Thanks to supernatural balance granted by the Nahel bond and hours of training jumping between walls, nothing short of a head injury can make Kaladin dizzy.
