Summary
When her paralyzed brother receives a draft letter from the King ordering him to report for duty following a declaration of war on a bordering country, Emory goes in her brother's place. In a kingdom that frowns upon women doing anything aside from bearing children and up-keeping the home, Emory disguises herself to train with the rest of the new enlistees of the King's Army. Women are not allowed to be soldiers, and if anyone were to find out what she has done, she would be executed alongside her entire family.
When Emory is assigned to bunk with the prince and his three best friends during training, however, she finds that keeping her secret is a lot harder than she thought it would be. As if keeping her secret is hard, bunking with four men who seem to have a homoerotic relationship is harder. The plot thickens, along with certain other appendages, when the group turns their attentions onto Emory, whom they think is male.
But she is very much female.
