Summary
Stars, in multiple ways, remind Yoonchae of Megan. They remind her of the little star tattoo on Megan’s rib that Yoonchae—privately, selfishly—wants to feel under her hands, to know if it’ll feel any different than the rest of Megan’s skin. They remind her of that night in LA, Megan showing her all the constellations, explaining what they all meant. They remind her of being a kid, reaching out of the window of her apartment in Seoul and into the sky, thinking she could reach the stars, only to be met with disappointment when all she grabs is air. Stars, in general, remind Yoonchae of Megan—beautiful, radiant, but so far from her that she can’t even begin to hope that they’re also looking back at her.

Yoonchae finished the rest of her nightly skincare routine on autopilot.
Cleanser rinsed away, foam swirling down the drain; toner tapped into her skin, a slightly tacky feeling left behind; moisturizer smoothed over her cheeks until the air conditioning cools the product on her skin. The bathroom mirror had fogged up just enough with the leftover heat of her shower that her reflection had gone soft around the edges, blurrier, too.
She pads into her bedroom, bare feet sinking into the white plush of the rug, and reaches for her phone on her bedside table. It’s Friday night, finally. There’s no homework looming over her, no basketball practice for her body to dread. It’s just her, her bed, and the K-Drama she’s been saving for when she actually has both the time and energy to sit still for a few hours, pay attention, and get to fully enjoy it.
She’s nearly in her bed, can nearly taste the warmth of her comforter, when—
HOOOOOOOOOONK.

They go thrifting on Saturday because Megan suggests it a few days earlier.
She says it around a mouthful of toothpaste, words slightly muffled, eyes bright in the bathroom mirror. “We should go to that place on Fifth,” she adds, foam collecting at the corner of her mouth. “The one that still prices things like an actual thrift store.”
It sounds offhand—casual, if you weren’t listening for the pause that follows. Megan hesitates just long enough for the question underneath to surface.
“Okay,” Yoonchae says. She means it. She even smiles.
Megan exhales, shoulders immediately dropping from her ears...
After a rough patch in their relationship, Yoonchae and Megan are trying to return to normal. But something still isn’t quite right. As they move forward, they’re forced to confront what went unsaid, what forgiveness actually looks like, and whether healing means moving on—or stopping long enough to be honest.

Yoonchae had gotten used to Megan’s things being there: the leather jacket slung over the chair like it had always belonged, the faint scent of her cherry-vanilla shampoo lingering in the pillows long after she’d gone, the way she always kicked her shoes off too close to the door and apologized for it every time.
What was new was the word.
Girlfriend...
Yoonchae and Megan have been official for a month now—no longer hovering around the word relationship or the in-between—but the word girlfriend brings new expectations with it. When both Mitsuki and Masaru Bakugou had had their first child, Katsuki, it’d been the happiest time of their life. Katsuki was an energetic child born with a mess of spiky ash-blonde hair and ruby-red eyes. He was loud and brash, but his parents wouldn’t trade him for the world.
A year later they were blessed with another child. It was another boy and he’d been born with of light-brown hair and heterochromic brown and red eyes, his name was Yaketsuku.
From the beginning, the older Bakugou’s had noticed how much different, besides physical appearance, their second child was. Where Katsuki had wailed and screamed, the younger boy was quiet; when Katsuki didn’t get his way he yelled, while Yaketsuku simply took it.
