Minho glanced up from his frankly confusing artisanal breakfast sandwich, following the jut of Jisung’s chin to the man in question.
“Hmmm, four.”
“Four?” Jisung’s eyebrows shot up in surprise. “That’s generous.”
Minho shrugged, then took a sip of his coffee, “I think he’ll look at you. With distaste, obviously. And tell you all the reasons you’ve insulted him by thinking he would ever be an option for you.”
It was a game they’d been playing for as long as Minho could remember, a one to ten scale of how likely Jisung was to get a date with whatever stranger caught his eye that day. One was no response, not even a look. Ten was an immediate yes.
Minho had never guessed ten.

As far as approaches go, well, there’d been much worse. The man did seem genuinely embarrassed by his question, as if he knew how it was going to be perceived, and he was keeping a respectable distance from them on the sidewalk, his eyes jumping up and darting between the two boys before falling back to his feet.
“I’m sorry, I’m not interested,” Minho tried to lace a little bit of warmth into his rejection, since the man had been polite, already turning on his heel to move on with his day.
The man’s eyes snapped up, confusion on his features before he shook his head slightly, eyes flicking to Jisung, “I, umm, I’m sorry, I wasn’t talking to you. I was asking him.”

Summary
Han Jisung never understood why Lee Minho treated him so coldly. While Minho's mother welcomes him like another son, sharing home-cooked dinners and warm conversations in her Seoul apartment, Minho can barely look him in the eye. Each visit is a reminder that, for some reason unknown to Jisung, he is invisible to the boy who occupies his thoughts.
When Mrs. Lee invites them both on a birthday trip to Tokyo in the middle of December, Jisung knows it will be a test.
