It’s late.
I find myself wandering the halls, hearing nothing but the distant pounding of a bass drum, the bright hissing of a hi-hat, the hollow cracking of a snare, the toms— bigidabum— over and over and over and over…
I descend the stairs, wishing to watch the tapestry of our music thread together under Tucker’s hands and feet. We’ve been recording Asleep in the Chapel for the last couple days, yet there’s so much more of it still inside me. The lyrics are complete, sure, they practically poured out of me— in fact, there may be too many words in that song— but I can’t stop thinking about it all.
