Summary

Charles Xavier is a renowned small claims TV judge while still being an active lawyer off screen still dealing with shady business people.
Just the person that Jakob Lehnsherr is looking for. He and his wife, Edie, along with their son, Erik, own a small bakery in Manhattan that is one of the few family owned businesses left on their block. Sebastian Shaw is a greedy corporate business man wanting to buy them out as he has done to the rest of their block.
Jakob hires Charles for help while Erik sticks to the baking because what can a stupid celebrity judge like Charles do for him and his father?
But there might be more to Charles than Erik thought.

Summary
It has almost been a year, Charles thinks to himself, and a shudder runs through him at just the thought. A year and it still feels like eons ago that he’d been assigned what would be the biggest case of his career. He still remembers how excited he had been, how he had spent nights in this very office, his desk brimming with case files and tea mugs.
Only a year, and Charles barely recognises his life before it. A year that had aged him a decade and shattered his heart beyond repair.
There was a reason why Charles had blown his own cover and returned to duty, why he had quit active field work and had decided to teach at the Academy, why he still can’t sleep some days and wakes up in a cold sweat. And all those reasons begin and end with one Mafia boss, Erik Magnus Lehnsherr.
Infiltrating Erik’s den to collect evidence to incriminate him had been Charles’s job, yes. But falling in love with Erik wasn’t. That, Charles did all by himself.
