“Who complained about you eating, question?” Someone must’ve said something. He’s had so many visitors in the last couple of days. Who was it? Grace has never questioned this part of himself. Grace huffs at me.
“No one! I’m just trying to be polite! Eridians have special soundproof eating rooms, shouldn’t I?”
“You are not Eridian!”
He doesn’t need to meet our standards; he’s his own species! Some things he might need to change in his daily life to adapt to Erid life, but his food habits don’t need to be one of them. My words don’t comfort Grace like I thought they would. Grace shrinks into himself, and I wish I were on his side to hug him.
or the Entities provide Grace with a culture teacher to prepare for life on Erid and he gets his first taste of Eridian inhospitality.

This is all Rocky's fault. He was stupid, stupid, stupid. How could he be so stupid and let this happen? Between the two of them, Grace was supposed to be the stupid one, not Rocky.
They were supposed to be okay, fine. Rocky and Grace saved the stars, saved Earth and Erid, saved humans and eridians. Rocky helped Grace and Grace helped Rocky. Then Grace saved Rocky. So Rocky had to save Grace.
Now they're supposed to be safe and fine.
But Grace isn't fine. Not at all. And it's all his fault.
Or, Grace accidentally comes into contact with Erid bacteria and gets sick, Rocky (understandably) panics

Rocky is a good dancer, which I already knew. He has good coordination, which is kind of necessary when you have five arms, and he has amazing memory. There's only so much he can do with my clumsy footwork, though.
"You are messing up rhythm," he scolds, though his voice has no bite.
"Am not," I snap, even though I totally am.
"You say rhythm strong weak weak. But you take step strong weak strong strong weak. Irregular. You only have two legs and you still cannot coordinate, question?"
I didn't think first contact would involve this much bullying. "You're so mean to me."
