Kaeya takes a moment to drink his drink, pondering over the claim that had been made. “Yeah I vaguely recall that…”

Not a single soul recognises the bard who wanders through the front gates one day. Mondstadt is nothing if not welcoming to all who visit, suspicious or strange, weird or wonderful. He is clearly young, and, though a nuisance, entirely harmless. By mid-afternoon, the boy will have eaten. The owners of the taverns and bakeries do not let him go hungry. They don’t ask for payment, and Venti rarely offers. He thanks them with a song or a story, and everybody ends up satisfied. He doesn’t seem to want for anything, and if he did, the Church would provide it. That is how it is in Mondstadt.
Or, the fic in which Jean meets Mondstadt's newest resident homeless orphan.

And he’s holding her hand, and he is trusting her, and Jean finds herself experiencing an emotion she doesn’t have a name for as she looks into his inhuman eyes and finds her faith alive and well, and knowing his face and his name and his vices and flaws and his voice and how much he loves his people does not shake it.

Never has there been a time in Mondstadt's history where he has been able to claim both his wings and his true name; Venti. But never either has he had friends who insist he can have both.
