“What?” Sieun turned to Suho in surprise.
“I don’t know why I asked.” Suho chewed his lip. “I just think it’s too cruel that we only find out when it doesn’t matter anymore. Like, what’s the point then?”
Staring into the concrete above, Sieun couldn’t help but agree. But maybe the universe was just cruel like that, dangling the possibility of true love before snatching it away in one irreversible swoop.

“Nothing,” Neil quietly repeats, and sighs. “I don’t believe that for a second.”
“What could I possibly have been doing?”
“I don’t know,” Neil shrugs. “I mean, even if you sat there the entire time, that’s still more than nothing.” He wriggles around until he props up on an elbow and leans to face Todd, squinting at him. “You can’t fool me, Anderson.” He presses a finger against his temple, and flops back onto his bed. “I know you’ve got a whole world up there.”Todd has revelations - some about love, but mostly about writing. They're the same thing, in the end.
