Chay looks up from where he had been mouthing across Kim’s collarbones. His gaze is dark and wicked and should evoke at least some fear in Kim, just from how wild he looks. Predictably, it doesn’t.

Summary
The Bookkeeper is nestled right in the heart of Bangkok; it’s a small red brick building with large windows and a wooden door painted black with golden letters above spelling out the name in Italic font. Despite the hustle and bustle of the streets, it’s always quiet inside and it smells like leather and coffee. The owner of the bookshop is nice and never hovers - simply welcomes inside with a smile and a nod of the head.
With rows and rows of endless books, soft bean bags and luscious plants scattered about, The Bookkeeper is loved by all the quiet introverts searching for a moment of solace.
Chay is one of them.
He comes to The Bookkeeper every single Wednesday and Friday after class, without fail. He remains clueless to the fact that The Bookkeeper holds a centuries old curse, and clueless that 𝘩𝘦 is the one who can help undo it.

Chay has climbed tall like a tree now and his shoulders have become broad. Even though he’s still gangly as fuck, moving awkwardly like he has no clue what to do with his overgrown limbs now, and even though Kim could take him down faster than he could even blink, he has become bigger now, and Kim gets this weird soft feeling, tugging down low in his chest.

“What?” He rasps. “Why would I do that?”
“I don’t know, why does anyone break into people’s houses?” The man snarks. “To steal my things? To kill me?”
Chay blinks, gears inside his mind whirring. “I – you – what? No! I would never, I just – I just…” It’s then, finally, that the realisation dawns on him, and he feels his eyes widening, horrified. “You mean you weren’t trying to attract trick-or-treaters? This is just – your house? It just looks like this?”
For a brief moment, the man doesn’t answer, and through his rising panic, Chay swears he looks amused. Then –
“No, I wasn’t trying to attract trick-or-treaters. My house really just looks like this.”
“Oh my God.” Chay’s hands fly to his mouth, then his hair, gripping in disbelief. “Oh my God. I just broke into your house."
or, kim is a vampire and lives in a big vampirey house, and chay accidentally breaks into it because he thinks it's for trick-or-treaters.

Assessing the coast and silently declaring it clear, Kim darts out from his makeshift hiding space and towards the exit. He drives home feeling a little like he’s half-asleep, stuck between consciousness and somewhere else; somewhere blurred and confusing and numb. He thinks that if he can just reach his apartment, then it will be fine, because his apartment is where he is safe, and his apartment is where nobody can reach him, and he doesn’t have to feel all these bad things anymore, and his father isn’t going to step out from behind a corner and fix him with a gaze that reminds him of all the ways he isn’t the person he’s supposed to be –
“P’Kim, you’re home! I heard you at the keypad, so I – P’Kim?”
Kim collapses to his knees with a ragged sob.
So this is what it feels like to finally break.
...
When the water settles and the sun peeks from behind the clouds for the first time since Kim was a child, Chay is still holding him.
