Summary
When the king of Philos remarried, unlikely bonds were formed. Bringing a woman and her son into the castle was no easy task. Many viewed the union as a stain upon the royal family tree; a branch that shouldn't exist - he shouldn't exist. The blue eyed prince didn't share that opinion, giving Sylus a powerful ally as he found his place in the castle, and Xavier gained a fiercely loyal companion.
"How can I be Philos' light when I've spent the last decade walking in your shadow? The light always favored you, Sylus, not me."
"Moonlight is perhaps better suited to you, my prince. One doesn't need to bask in the sun in order to light the way. Night always favored you."
"How is there supposed to be night without day?"
The sun sets and the moon glazes their world in a new light. Night truly favours his prince, Sylus thought, taking in the sight of the other man safely resting against him.
"Philos has a bright future, indeed."
Sylus is tasked by the king to lead his army into battle, while Xavier is told it is time to marry - the heir of Philos needs a queen. When Sylus returns, his crimson gaze finds the most beautiful woman he's ever seen. Next to her is his oldest and closest friend.
