    A wonderfully written piece that follows the harmful aftereffects of disability, alongside the protectiveness that follows from loved ones.

    It had great cameos of all the characters—even the side characters got a good amount of love—and it was super easy to visualize.

    It had beautiful art as well.

    Right before the right arm was torn from its owner’s body forever, Truth paused, considering its options. A better punishment came to mind.

    Nothing as petty as another limb, easily replaced by hunks of machinery and nerve connections. No, Truth thought, Edward Elric would be taught a lesson. Little boys who thought they could defy God, not once, but twice, had a special place in hell, reserved just for them.

    Instead of a chunk of his body, Truth would take a chunk of his mind.

    Three years since the transmutation. Two years since he passed the exam. One year since the breakdown. A week since they released him from involuntary commitment. Yesterday, he regained his certification. Today, he has to tell the Colonel that he begins work again tomorrow.

    It has an interesting concept, and I love the way the author wrote about the characters. It mainly follows Ed—with his experiences post-asylum—and focuses on repairing lost relationships and overcoming the still prominent psychosis that landed him in the asylum, with a smaller cameo of the rest of the team and Roy.

    It currently has two chapters, but it’s a lovely read.

    A bittersweet work that focuses on the effects of trauma—both physiological and psychological— shown through Ed and his loved ones. It captured their feelings of guilt well, and was overall pretty fluent at portraying each character similarly to their canon personalities. I enjoyed the usage of the lullaby as a coping mechanism, and I think it was a nice touch to their closeness.

    Roy had watched Fullmetal topple over the railing, unable to do anything to prevent the disaster. One second the two of them had engaged in friendly - if irritating - banter, and the next Edward was suddenly gone. 

    Roy blamed his upset stomach and the horrible air at sea for his horrendous reaction time, but that didn’t ease the guilt in his soul as he searched the troughs of waves for a head full of golden hair.

    While on a diplomatic mission to Xing, Ed goes overboard - Roy has no choice but to save him, really. Especially since Ed cannot swim.

    A nice piece that has amusing similarities to the titanic movie, albeit nobody dies in this—phew—but their inability to be near a body of water without something going terribly wrong was so in character.
