“Don’t forget to have fun!” he grins.
“I know, Dad!” Christopher calls over his shoulder, laughing.
Eddie watches him go, waiting until he disappears through the doors, before he gets back to his truck. He reaches for his phone without thinking, muscle memory more than intention.
The screen lights up. Tinder notifications stack neatly at the top and Eddie freezes, staring at them in horror.
Three matches.
His brain registers the number first, detached, faintly disbelieving. Three actual human beings who saw his face, his bio, his life boiled down to a handful of words, and said yes. In less than two hours, that too.

"Eddie?" Shannon picks up on the fourth ring. "Everything okay?"
"I kissed a man," he says.
The silence on the other end stretches for nine thousand years. Eddie can hear Shannon breathing. He can hear his own heartbeat slamming against his ribs. He stares at the apartment building through his windshield, at the lit window on the fourth floor that might belong to E. Buckley, and waits for his ex-wife to say literally anything at all.
"You what?"
"I kissed a man, Shannon. Just now. I was delivering food and he opened the door and I just— I kissed him. On the mouth. And I don't know why."
Another silence. Then a sound Eddie recognizes with dawning horror as Shannon trying very, very hard to suppress a laugh.
"Shannon."
"I'm processing."
"You're laughing."
"I'm processing." She fails spectacularly. "I'm sorry, I just— you kissed a man? Edmundo Diaz? The same Edmundo Diaz who wouldn't watch Brokeback Mountain with me because it made him 'uncomfortable'?"
"It did make me uncomfortable!"
"Yeah, Eddie, I'm starting to understand why."

Summary
Eddie’s eyes snap open, his vision blurry and disoriented as he registers the unmistakable form of a toddler sitting on his sternum. His cheeks are round, blonde curls a mess and a pacifier is dangling half out of his mouth.
The kid is also patting his face like a bongo drum.
“Hi,” the child says, grinning wildly, just before the pacifier drops directly onto Eddie’s cheek.
He sits up with a jolt, instinct taking over and the kid topples sideways with a giggle, landing in the space beside him on the bed.
“What the fuck?” Eddie mutters, fully awake and adrenaline rising as he looks up and sees Buck… who is lying casually on the other side of the bed cradling another child.
“Don’t swear,” Buck says absently, like he’s not currently holding an unknown child.
“Don’t… did you just say don’t swear? Who the hell—” Eddie stammers, his eyes darting between the two kids and Buck.
“It’s us,” Buck says, like that explains anything, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.
Or; Eddie makes a wish by accident and it comes true. So he and Buck spends the day with their younger selves aging up three years every time they falls asleep.
