Fics That Makes Fiend Feel Things
Each work has a special place in my heart and in my mind's library. They have made me laugh, made me cry, and made me come alive with emotions. They've each brought colour into my soul when the monochrome realities of life and responsibilities wear me down. Thank you to the authors of these fics. I cherish every word, every dialogue and descriptor, and every punctuation.

Summary
“I didn’t know you smoked.” Eddie looks at him tentatively.
“Didn’t until ‘86,” Steve answers, letting the feeling of the cigarette between his fingers anchor him into reality.
“I see a lot has changed for you in ‘86.” Steve snorts, still not returning Eddie’s fixed gaze.
“Are you just going to ignore me for the rest of the night?”

The most beautiful piece of writing I have had the privilege of laying my eyes on. This is absolutely in my 10 Steddie fics and I would highly reccommend to anyone. The left side of my pillow is soaked from all the tears and my heart is so full from the montages of soft moments. As someone who got really into floriography a few years back, the use of flowers (also of Garden Fairy Stevie) is just top notch. *The Marigold tattoo 😭😭*. Ever since this fic, Love of a Lifetime by Firehouse has been imprinted in my heart as a Steddie song and I cannot listen to it without *feelings*. Strawberryspence, hats off to you.

Summary
Steve Harrington never planned for Eddie Munson.
Steve was supposed to marry his high school sweetheart, have 2.5 children, and take over the family business. He was supposed to live a blissful life on a nondescript cul-de-sac, complete with a white picket fence and a closet full of tasteful polo shirts. He was supposed to make a graceful transition between being the golden boy and being the American Dream.
Mediocrity was what destiny had designed for Steve. Reality had other plans.

The little tics and details written into Steddy's characters - like Eddie's knocking his knuckles on countertops and Steve's 'zhuzh' talk with Dustin, they absolutely kill me. There were so many sweet moments during the Skull Rock era and the way the Fall Out was written with Stevo's internal monologues, it falls so naturally with the canon plot. I can't wait to see what else is in store for our fools in love.

Summary
Wheeler’s hand shot up in the air again. “I’m sorry,” –she didn’t sound sorry at all to talk before being given permission– “but while we are on the topic of exceedingly rare statistics, could you perhaps expend more on Sigmas? I read about it once, and I can’t say I quite understood what it entailed exactly,” she finished with a sweet, dimpled smile and expectant eyes that just demanded answers. Man, she really had balls of steel.
Ms Moore spoke up. “It is not the topic of this lecture, Miss Wheeler.”
“Yes, ma’am, I know, but I read in a book that it is possible for a male to present as an omega, and," her eyes shined with a determined glint, maybe even greed, “for a female to present as an alpha.”
What? Steve thought, more than a little flabbergasted. That must be complete and utter bullshit.

What world building in the first chapter! A slightly unconventional take into A/O/B dynamics - the use of 'Sigma' dynamic, what a wonderful way of putting it! (For personal reasons, I am hoping this is Steve). The essence of the characters are well-captured; Nancy's studious side and sharp wit, Hopper's nonchalant, take-no-crap attitude. Gosh, I am so here for the next installment with a bowl of popcorn.

Summary
Steve Harrington can talk to ghosts. Sometimes. More accurately, ghosts can talk to Steve Harrington, and this fact has already saved his life once. He's really hoping they feel up to helping him a second time around, because it seems like the Upside Down isn't done with Hawkins yet.

Encountering this work a few nights after watching the Black Phone in the cinemas was serendipitous. Whilst watching it, Vance Hopper really struck me as a more unhinged/less MILF lover version of Billy Hargrove. And then I come across this masterpiece! Absolutely in love with the characterisation of Stevie here, the way the ghosts reach out to him - that part with the Russians, Stevie's understanding/speaking Russian because of the ghosts was just *chef's kiss*. The Steddie first encounter. I'm chewing on my thumb, anticipating the coming moments where Stevie is bound to meet the ghosts of those who were Vecna'ed.

Summary
When good luck hit Eddie, first by Billy Hargrove waking him up in the Upside Down, then by figuring out a plan to actually get back, executing that plan to success and crawling out of Lover's Lake only to find Steve Harrington eating a bag of chips whilst he sat on the front of his car. He didn't know quite what to do with it. He simply sat at the water's edge as the sun went down, breathed in a way he'd almost forgotten how to and watched Billy Hargrove shake Steve mercilessly by the shoulders before Steve dropped his chips and slapped him across the face in shock.
---
In September 1986, Eddie Munson and Billy Hargrove find themselves on the shore of Lover's Lake, only to be found by Steve Harrington.

Beautifully written peek into the complex layers of Steddilly's relationships. The camaraderie of Billy and Eddie, forged in battle and protectiveness over each other - the fact that even after a fight, they still acted as a look-out for one another, that level of trust makes me so weak for their dynamic. Weaving this with the push-and-pull both have with Stevie, dancing that fine line between love and want that may just blur into one, is just *chef's kiss*. I am hanging onto the metaphorical edge of my seat for the next chapter.
