Summary
Lady Murasaki has died. It is then only natural for Will to accompany his husband to the funeral.
Reminiscences of the past are doomed to rise again, as both Will and Hannibal reflect on their parents and what grieving them mean to them. But then enters Pascal Popil. And Will can't tell, for the life of him, if that man is supposed to be Hannibal's early Nemesis, or just a hated step-dad.
The mother figure will probably be the only one being buried at that funeral, as Hannibal doesn't seem to be willing to put to rest any of his childhood grudges.***
Popil smiled but it was tinted with some sourness that couldn't be perfectly hidden.
"Ah, that specific smugness of yours," he commented. "You haven't grown out of it, I see. Always the smartest in the room."
"I happen to often be, indeed," Hannibal replied, unapologetic.Series

Will Graham, a Harvard drama major with a hidden devotion to ballet, catches the attention of his psychology professor, Dr. Hannibal Lecter, who sees Will’s empathy and artistry as something rare and irresistible.
What begins as mentorship slowly turns into an intimate, manipulative courtship, with Hannibal guiding Will through “lessons” that blur desire, control, and care.
