Summary
Patterns and echoes of what she knew was supposed to happen - she could see them everywhere. She was what was wrong in the picture, the thing that shifted everything and caused devastating changes, and yet even then the weave of history showed a similar image to what she had expected.
Being reincarnated into the body of an Elf, growing up in Rivendell, it had always sounded like a dream to her. It was both a dream and a nightmare. Love and grief were inseperable for her, even when she was surrounded by people who were supposed to be immortal. The future loomed menacingly ahead, promising war, love, and even more loss.
She didn't want it. She wanted freedom to choose her own fate, and she wanted the freedom to explore Middle-earth.
What would you do with three thousand years? Well, she certainly wasn't going to spend them sitting in Rivendell.Series

Gimli is not good at waiting. He will throw himself into danger a thousand times or more without fear in his heart - but to watch, and to wait? Helpless, formless, voiceless and utterly useless?
No, Gimli is not good at waiting.
Thankfully, he has a guide. A mentor who has learned these lessons the hard way. Gimli will not spend eighty years in the learning of them.
But perhaps he might learn a few others.

He was silent for a moment. She heard his cloak rustle, the sound of his hand grasp one of the bars. The gentle tap of his rings against the metal filled her ears, and she shut her eyes.
“When you denied an alliance with me, I found other means of quenching my thirst.”
“For violence and depravity?” she shot back.
“For vengeance,” he hissed. “Just as you sought yours. Keep your righteousness to yourself. I care not for it. These Men, these Númenóreans, fought against me in the Great War. Slew countless lives. With their pride and their arrogance in their mighty goodness. They thought they were better than the rest of us as you yourself believed you were better than me.” His voice dropped to a whisper. “I wanted to see them suffer. I have achieved so much more than that.”
Written for an anonymous tumblr prompt: During Ar-Pharazôn’s rule of Númenor when Sauron holds the position of the High Priest of Melkor, Galadriel is captured in the middle of a war, imprisoned, and handed over to him as a sacrifice to be made in the Temple of the High Priest, but Sauron has other plans. From Akallabêth to the founding of Gondor, unlikely allies are forged.

Summary
“Are ye really not going to tell me, Elrond?”, Durin asked him, sounding hurt and amused at the same time.
“Tell you what?”
“How ye managed to end up soaked, cold and barely conscious on my door!”
Or: Elrond is on his way to Eregion when he gets caught by rain and wind. He is exausted, emotionally and physically but manages to get to Khazad-dûm where a suprised Durin finds his trembling, pale friend who is about to collapse. Durin helps Elrond to rest and tries to figure out why Elrond is so overworked that he got himself sick. During the night Elrond's sickness gets worse and Durin and Disa take care of him and reassure him, that he is allowed to take breaks and comfort their friend, when the stress becomes too much to bear.
