Evan Buckley wasn’t born under a prophecy or with a holy choir singing in the background. He wasn’t even born for himself. He was born to save a dying brother - and he failed.
When Evan ran away from home on the Jeep his sister gave to him, he didn't expect to discover a dark secret within his medical files. That he was born to be a bone marrow dispenser for a dead boy - and that everyone else knew but him. He thought his parents and sister were the only ones who could give him answers - but the road trip from hell seems hellbent on proving otherwise.
There’s a dragon-snake thing in Florida. Flesh-eating horses in Montana. And an old goat-man who insists Evan’s “Obama-Care hands” is totally normal, then gave him a map to some camp in the New York woods.

As if unearthing family trauma wasn’t enough, now Evan’s weird quirks - making promises, sensing lies, the way animals listen to him - they just might mean something. Like, maybe he’s a demigod. Which is definitely not a thing. Right?
Because Evan Buckley might be spiraling, but even he knows better than to join a cult in the woods. Probably.

Summary
"Hey, thing two!" Chim calls out from the patio doors, pointing back out to the backyard. "Can you come over here and rescue thing one from the girls? Bobby says he hasn't had any food yet and I'm not willing to get in between Buck and his uncle time." Chimney air-quotes, exasperated.
Eddie scoffs, rolling his eyes. "Why am I thing two?" He asks, offended, though Eddies filling up a second plate the moment Maddie hands him one. His own plate is abandoned, baked goods laid to the side. "Shouldn't it be the other way around?"
Chimney shrugs. "Eh details, Buck joined the 118 first—and I'm pretty sure you don't want me referring to him the way Hen does on your behalf." He teases, waggling his eyebrows.
Eddie flushes, looking away from Maddies inquiring expression while he clears his throat. "Uh—yeah, yeah no, don't use that word—I'll be right there."
or: living with Buck is hard to describe, the experience has Eddie feeling like he's floating on cloud nine most days, but
when the new HOA president, Jason, wages war with Eddie about the mango tree in their front yard (Bucks mango tree, to be specific), well, it’s only natural that Eddie ends up proposing marriage about it. -

Summary
Eddie stares at the massive display in front of him in horror. How are there so many different kinds of fertiliser? And of course Pepa isn't answering his calls to ask which one she wants for her roses. Eddie closes his eyes and pinches the bridge of his nose.
Evan didn't become a firefighter, instead he studied horticulture and botanicals, starting his own business in sustainable, green landscaping. He meets Eddie having a crisis in the fertiliser section of the local nursery and things grow.

Buck loves his new house, his landscaping skills come in handy as he completely reworks his bare yard. His neighbours seem nice too - Chris is inquisitive and clever and his step-mum, Carla is friendly as well.An alternative universe meet-cute and slow burn romance along with missed moments, arguments, misunderstandings and a series of events where no one realises that Evan and Buck are the same person also known as the Gardener Buck AU.

Summary
In a violent blur, Buck slams into Brad, forcing him to lose balance and taking the initiative to slam him hard against the fire engine he’s been leaning on like it’s some fucking sports car to show off to civilians. The action knocks the breath out of the man but Buck doesn’t give him time to recover before he’s pressing an arm over his throat.
“You ever pull a stunt like that during a call, and hurt Eddie again—” Buck states in cold and calm tone he never knew he could possess, forearm pushing painfully right on Brads hyoid bone. Contemplates the knowledge that just applying 40 pounds of pressure could break it as he watches the man try to writhe to breathe. “—and I will crush your throat so no one has to fucking listen to you pretend like you know how to act.”
Or a rewrite for season 7/8 with Buck being chosen and choosing himself and Eddie understanding what he rightfully wants and needs.
