    The headaches. It was the tiredness that preceded everything else — his body preparing for the onslaught of pain that’d last him for a day. Usually, he texted Bruce when a headache would take him out for the count, but… Spryal still left some untended, gaping wounds in his fragile chest, the size of Bruce’s relentless fists. Bruce didn’t know his routine, Bruce didn’t deserve to know his routine — let alone when he was at his most vulnerable.

    The Flash shared a confused look with Black Canary. "2010."

    Nightwing stared at the now half-empty glass in his hands. His mind went completely blank. "I'm in...the past?" He muttered out loud. His voice echoed around the white room and back to his ears, sounding confused and small.

    That was his birthright: talent, strength, beauty. Beauty. All throughout his formative years under the circus tent, it was always Dick’s cheeks that were pinched by fawning old ladies. He was the Flying Grayson whom everyone wanted to get their picture taken with.

    Such a looker! The girls are going to be all over you one day, honey, just you wait. It was usually followed by a wink and a laugh, and Dick would laugh right along with them. The attention wasn’t any more of a hardship than the adoring crowds’ cheers were when the dazzling Dick Grayson landed a quadruple flip fifty feet above the ground. Everyone loved him, and he loved being loved.

    Where Asgard is not destroyed and Bruce tries to navigate life on another planet immediately after Hela's rampage while Thor tries to be the warrior king he thinks his people need and deal with whatever mess his brother's undoubtedly terrible rule has left.
    Except... Loki wasn't entirely terrible?
    Bruce has only ever heard about Asgard and Loki from Thor, and has heard much about how his people love the Thunderer.
    Now he meets someone who does NOT love Thor, and hears a very different take on events and Loki than he ever has before. Why DID Loki invade Midgard and steal the throne of Asgard anyway? Could it really be true there was more to it all than simple jealousy and a rotten nature as he has believed all this time? Does he even dare to ask?

    (The action mostly happens in the background, this is Bruce P.O.V. helping out the healers in the aftermath.)

    All eyes immediately turned to where Batman sat with his arms crossed, looking impassive as always. There was a long moment of silence and the corners of Batman’s mouth turned ever so slightly downward. Finally, in a flat tone of voice that gave no more away than his face ever did, he said, “He’s… well trained. Fast. Could be useful.”

    Dick Grayson has healing powers, he simply always has. It's a secret he keeps close to his chest, as much as he'd like to shout it from the rooftops and help everyone in need, his papá has instilled it in him to closely guard his secret for his own safety.

    When Dick is Robin with a newly made Batman, he can't help himself from revealing his secret when Batman gets hurt. He just tells him to close his eyes as he does.

    It's just a normal fact of life, going to Dick when you get injured, one the entire batfamily depends on, allowing for a lot of reckless behaviour.

    This is why Dick can't tell them about the consequences of using them. It's why he asked them to close their eyes. He can deal with it.
