Summary
Class is in session at Beacon Academy, and Team RWBY have just started their second semester, training to protect the world of Remnant from the Creatures of Grimm. But not all is as it seems. Shadowy groups are drawing up sinister plans, and it's up to Ruby, Weiss, Blake and Yang to investigate before things get out of hand.
Meanwhile, on the remote planet Rubicon 3, Augmented Human C4-621—callsign 'Raven'—and Ayre witness Coral Release. But instead of symbiosis, 621 and Ayre are whisked away from Rubicon and split apart from each other against their will.

Summary
I've been rewatching RWBY, taking notes, and analysing what I take notes on. Most of that I've been posting to my tumblr, but this one might be a bit... difficult, to put on there directly.
So I'm putting it here instead.
RWBY is a show that loves using symbolism, and the Moon certainly seems to have some significance beyond simply looking cool as hell. It also makes an appearance in each of the Color Trailers. In this essay, I analyse the way those Trailers utilise the Moon.

Nor the masked figures who kicked their cold bodies. Not the ever-present stench of blood stuck in her nose. Nor the images forever burned into her mind. None of it mattered.
She had to keep them safe. No matter, even if it meant giving up her own life, she'd keep them safe. Mother had asked. Mother had begged. So, she'd keep them safe. No matter the cost.

This is a story told from the perspective of everyone else, as they meet Weiss Schnee for the second first time. Weiss's original world and all her old relationships are gone, washed away like footprints on the shore. But that doesn't mean she can't retrace them.
