“Oh Leaf, I’m so sorry.” She sobbed. “I’ll do ma’ best to make it up to ya…” I didn’t want to leave, I didn’t want to change, but I didn’t want mom to know so I did my best to make sure she wasn’t sad. My mom couldn’t see it due to the hug but tears started to stream down my face.
