Summary
Monaco: famous for its one and only city of wealth and casinos. The Monacan princess herself; known to be arrogant and stubborn, did not gain her riches from doing nothing. In fact, after the Second World War broke out, she had been sent to live in a farmhouse with her cousin, Sanremo, and her uncle, Belluno, in Venice. Northern Italy had been completely devastated after the war; considering the Duce’s incompetence, Allied bombers ravaged it, Venice was no exception. After the death of both her uncle and her cousin, Monaco was left to fend for herself on the streets. Nothing more than another poverty-ridden orphans among the thousands. From stealing, to fights, to even murder. Monaco was willing to do anything for money; anything to grant her a new start. Even when it came down to her own friend; perhaps even lover, Sicily. When given the choice between staying in hiding with him or ratting him out for a handsome amount of cash; enough to get her back on her feet.
She took the latter.
And now she stands lonesome on a bridge. Only guilt consumes her. That once arrogant facade now washed away. It was only her, and the moon.
