It was his destiny, the reason why he existed. He was the Hero. The one whom the goddesses chose, the one with the never failing courage. No matter what, no matter when, no matter who. Saving Hyrule was his fate. At first, Link simply accepted it without asking questions. Why would he? He was going to be a hero, to save everything he loves, and his life would feel complete. He was wrong. His life would never feel complete ever again.

in a universe where Purah creates a device that helps the champions overcome the calamity, what if it were to malfunction, if it were to accidentally summon the hero from 100 years in the future?
this fic is basically just Purah accidentally time-traveling post-calamity/TOTK link to the pre-calamity champions (including her and Zelda) whilst he's wearing a mask, non of them realize it's him, and they now have beef since Link refuses to take it off and his fight or flight was triggered from being summoned, causing him to attack them. How are they going to realize that the weird Bokoblin acting Hylian(?) is Link, that all of them are dead in the future and that he's now a speaking, chaotic mess of the royal guard he once was???
Also, I only realized this 4 months after posting the first chapter, but updates are really slow, usually monthly. so if the latest chapter is around a month old, I'll probably post a new one that week.
(btw, the revilink isn't in here yet, honestly idk if I'm even gonna include it in the fic in the first place???)

Link wakes up stranded in the central depths with no weapons, no Purah Pad, no battery to power zonai devices, and no clue what's going on. Will he be able to contact the surface and survive the unforgiving lands of the depths? Can Zelda manage to communicate with the past while also keeping present day Hyrule safe?
They'll certainly try, but their road is an unmerciful one.

The wind dances to his tune, braced at his back as he marched against the current. Ganondorf slumbers at the bottom of the sea, dark power spilling from cracks in the seams. The Red King tells him what it means to be brave.
“The seal’s gonna break. You can't drown him again.” Link stands in a castle frozen in time and bargains with a god. “You need a hero, and I’m here to be one.”
…Child of the sea, Hylia begins, voice ringing with divinity in his head. I name you the Hero of this Era. May your winds be ever swift.
It sounds like a condemnation. Link thinks it’s the closest thing to being blessed he’s ever known.
Link does not have the Hero’s Spirit. He makes it work anyway, in a very Link way.
